5 Vegas Series 'A',  Apocalypse 6.0" x 58.  Strong spice and light pepper.  Great chocolatey and sweet spice flavor throughout.  These are nice cigars, never too strong or overwhelming.  Nice.

Sol Cubano Cuban Cabinet, Magnum 6.0" x 50.  Harsh off the light, smooths out quickly to nutty smooth smoky flavor.  Nice woody nutty flavor to the last third, where it smooths out to a creamy nutty flavor.  Nice smoke.

Paired with gin bloody mary.

La Herencia Cubana, Toro 6.5" x 52.  Not a huge flavor, starts a little harsh, but smooths out nicely.  A nondescript flavor, but smooth and burns well.  Decent inexpensive cigar.

 Paired with strawberry margarita.

La Gloria Cubana - 9/26/2010

La Gloria Cubana, Churchill Maduro 7.0" x 50. Strong pepper prelight.  Pepper and spice off the start which gives way to a cherry sweet spice through the burn.  Very meaty, leathery, spicy and sweet cherry to the nub.  Very nice cigar.

Tatiana Mocha Caramely - 9/26/2010

Tatiana Mocha, Caramely, 6x50.  Definitely my favorite breakfast cigar.  This is made to go with coffee.  The overwhelmingly strong chocolate aroma turns out much milder in the smoke, but a perfect accompaniment with my morning joe.

Paired with Boyds Gold Medallion coffee.

Cusano 59 - 9/25/2010

Cusano 59 Rare Cameroon, robusto 5x50.  Sweet cedar, some spice, leather and tobacco flavors compete in an somewhat plain cigar.  Not bad, but nothing to rave about.

La Herencia Cubana Oscuro Fuerte - 9/25/2010

La Herencia Cubana Oscure Fuerte, Robusto 5.5" x 54.  One of my favorite cigars, well made, huge amounts of smoke.  The flavor is peppery and spice off the light, then strong spice, some vanilla, some cherry throughout the remainder.  This is one I smoke to the nub everytime.  A great cigar.

Paired with Amstel light lager.

Isla Del Sol, Gran Corona 5x44.  Small chocolate and coffee flavored sweetened cigar.  Nice for a morning smoke with coffee.

Padron 1964 Anniversary - 9/24/2010


Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Natural Imperial, 6x54. Smooth spice, huge smoke, and a satisfying long flavor throughout.  Very rich but not overwhelming, This is a nice cigar, well made and enjoyable, albeit a little expensive.

Paired with Yellowglen Pink sparkling wine.

Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Maduro - 9/23/2010

Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Maduro,  Toro 6x52.  Very deep rich smooth chocolatey flavor, quite a bit of spice, a little pepper.  Leather and meaty spice throughout.  These are nice cigars.

5 Vegas Classic, Torpedo, 6.0" x 54.  Cream, leather, mild tobacco tastes.  Medium body, but the smoke is smooth and pleasing.  A nice cigar for the price.

Graycliff G2, torpedo, 6.0" x 52.  Nutty and toasty, not very strong, but OK smoke.  Nothing extraordinary however.  Decent.

Man O' War, toro 6.5x52. Nice smooth spicy smoke, not too much pepper.  Volumes of smoke, never harsh or off flavor.  Just a nice smoke all the way around.

Gurkha Legend, robusto 5x50.  Strong spice, quite a bit of pepper from the start.  Well balanced and meaty smoke throughout.  Very deep, rich and satisfying, with a complex but very balanced flavor.  Excellent smokes.

Isla del Sol, Gran Corona 5x44.  Little cigar with coffee and chocolate flavors.  I smoke these frequently with coffee.  Great mild flavor.

Partagas Black, Cabinet De Cincuenta 747, 7.0" x 47.  Dark chocolate cocoa taste, along with strong pepper and spice.  It then smooths out into a spicy balanced deep meaty smoke.  Excellent cigar.

Tatiana Mocha, Caramely, 6x50.  My favorite cigar in the morning, chocolate aroma, mild taste, lots of smoke.  A smooth enjoyable breakfast cigar.

Paired with Kauai coffee after mango and macadamia nut pancakes with guava syrup.

Diesel - 9/16/2010

Diesel, torpedo, 5x56.  Very strong pepper and spice off the light, but then quickly settles into a peppery, spicy, balanced and smooth smoke.  There is some cocoa in there, along with a perfect blend of sweet spice.  These are simply great cigars.

Paired with Piper-Heidsieck Brut Champagne.

CAO The Sopranos - 9/16/2010

CAO The Sopranos Boss, 7x56. Strong cocoa and coffee flavor off the light. Very spicy with hints of black cherry and cedar. Long perfectly balanced smoke, with an amazing dark chocolate cocoa flavor. Excellent big  cigar.

Cohiba, "Red Dot" Dominican churchill 7x49.  Woody, nutty, cedar flavor. Slight pepper in the background.  Very nice medium to strong body.  Nice cigar.

Tatiana Mocha, Caramely, 6x50.  My usual breakfast cigar, pairs so well with coffee that it is almost hard to drink coffee without one.  Chocolate aroma, mild flavor.

Padilla Signature 1932 Churchill, 7" x 48.  Pepper and spice with a nice nutty flavor.  I enjoy this cigar very much, a great cigar.

Arturo Fuente Don Carlos, Double Robusto, 5.75x52. Sweet nutty woody flavor, hints of cocoa.  A smooth wonderfully flavorful cigar.  Very nice.

Paired with Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut champagne.

La Gloria Cubana, Churchill Maduro 7.0" x 50.  Pepper aroma prelight, with pepper and spice off the start. Then quickly shows its complexity and balance, with notes of cedar, cocoa, spice, and some tobacco.  Very fine cigar.

79 degrees, but feels cool.  A breezeless wonderful afternoon.

Isla del Sol, Gran Corona 5x44.  Nice little coffee and chocolate flavored breakfast smoke, with a sweetened tip that doesn't spoil the experience.  Smooth, mild enjoyable little cigar.

Sol Cubano Cuban Cabinet, churchill 7x47.  Taste of nuts and some spice, but overall pretty medium to mild.  Nice flavors in an inexpensive smoke.

Tierra Del Sol, box pressed Torpedo, 6.1x54.  Started off a little harsh, but then turned predictably mild.  Mild notes of coffee and chocolate.  Not the best from Perdomo by a long shot, but adequate for a morning smoke.

Indian Tabac Super Fuerte, toro maduro 6x52. Smooth and creamy spice, some chocolate and pepper.  This is a very interesting cigar, as the flavors are subdued but just below the surface.  Strong enough for those that like a bold cigar, but mild enough for those that enjoy something lighter.  This is a flavorful nice cigar.

Paired with a strawberry margarita.

Alec Bradley Tempus - 9/09/2010

Alec Bradley Tempus, Quadrum 5.5x55.  This was a salvaged cigar from a box that was oversaturated and the cigars were dripping wet.  After drying them out, the cigars are cosmetically damaged, but they smoke OK.  There is a dampening of the flavor, these aren't as strong as a normal Alec Bradley Tempus, but they don't have any odd flavors and are quite enjoyable in their own right.  Spice and pepper, smooth burn, but boy do they look funny.

Paired with Ardbeg 10 year old scotch.

5 Vegas Series 'A', Apocalypse 6x58. Deep flavors of spice and pepper. Full bodied, meaty and toasty, with flavors of caramel and spices.  Always very smooth and sweet. Perfect burn, perfect cigar.

Paired with Ron  Zacapa Centenario Reserva 23 Años rum.

La Aurora Maduro, Robusto, 5x50.  Wood and tobacco flavor, not a strong maduro.  Smoothed out and took on some cocoa notes during last half.  Nice burn and even draw, unremarkable flavor throughout.  An OK cigar.

5 Vegas Gold, No. 1, 7.5x54. Very mild cigar, slightly spicy flavored with smooth cinnamon and tobacco.  Nice plain morning cigar.

Cu-Avana Intenso, Torpedo, 6x54. Strong pepper and spice, mellows into a nice peppery spicy flavor bomb.  Very well balanced, beautiful strong flavor throughout.  You feel this one deep inside.  A very fine cigar.

Man O' War  Ruination, Robusto No. 2, 6.0" x 60. Loads of spice, wood, oak and toast flavors throughout. Very robust and strong, but perfectly balanced and never overwhelming. A perfect burn on a very well made cigar.  These are great.

Paired with an old school Trader Vic's style mai tai.
