Rocky Patel Decade - 7/01/2010

Rocky Patel Decade, Toro, 6.5x52. Velvety chewy wrapper, smooth and creamy smoke off the light. It gains a little spice and sweetness as it burns. Third of the way in it actually gets stronger becoming full bodied with tons of smoke. There is an earthiness to it all along.  A pretty good smoke, creamy and smooth, but with strength.

Paired with 2007 Villa Mt. Eden Russian River Grand Reserve Pinot Noir, which was surprisingly good for the price.  Then smoked along with a 2008 Oyster Bay Pinot Noir, which while good, paled next to the Villa Mt. Eden.

81 degrees on an absolutely beautiful afternoon.
